Below are some basic tips on how to chat safe

• Anything you type in a chat room can be seen by everyone who is using that chat room so be careful what you type. In cyberspace the walls don't so much have ears as eyes.
• Choose an non identifiable, non gender specific screen name (and keep it clean!)
• Never give out any personal information whilst chatting online . That means your real name, telephone or cell phone number[s], mailing address, passwords.
• Never accept files or downloads from people you don't know or from people you do know, if you weren‘t expecting them. This includes URLs.
• Never arrange to meet someone offline that you only know through chat room conversations.
• Make sure you know how to save copies of your chat room conversations.
• Make sure you now how to report problems to the chat room moderator.
• Remember your Netiquette and be nice! Don’t send mean chat messages, get involved in chat room arguments

It is always important you report suspicious activity, although we have good advanced methods of fishing our trouble makers and predators with human moderators and bots we cannot see everything, especially P2P's (Private Messages). If you think someone is not who they say they are please join the #Help chat room through the rooms list and give us what information you have on this person. Everyone is investigated that has been reported.

We have undertaken a new tactic dealing with trouble makers and predators recently. Although we still monitor the chat rooms closely and remove alot of people we've found it's alot more effective to educate the users of our chat rooms on the dangers and it's been a great help the feedback we get from you. Since we have regulars in the room they have a good idea who is a regular chatter and they certain ways people behave. Let your common sense guide you to a safe chat with no trouble.
